Principal Asks Student For "Knowledge?"

School officials waited nearly a year after getting complaints that a Queens principal was propositioning male students for oral sex before booting him, The Post has learned.

Although HS for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture Principal Quintin Cedeno's alleged behavior was reported to school investigators in late 2008, he was kept at the helm until Oct. 22, 2009.

Only then was Cedeno, 33, reassigned to an administrative office. He admitted to probers that he told boys on the basketball team to "suck" his "d- - -," but claimed he was joking.

Yesterday, the Office of Special Commissioner of Investigations Richard Condon said it had substantiated the allegations and admitted it failed to tell the Education Department for almost a year.

Cedeno admitted to some of the inappropriate conduct, but he denied having solicited sex, probers said.

He did not respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

School officials plan to fire the untenured principal from his $140,000-a- year job.

Condon referred his findings to the Queens DA's Office.
